Harry served in the Navy during World War II, enlisting October 8, 1943 and released December 24, 1945.

He later lived in Montvale and Hillsdale in Bergen County, New Jersey. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westwood, Bergen County, New Jersey, a past president of its Church Council, and a member of the board for the construction of Zion Lutheran School.

He retired in 1978 from a position as a supplies supervisor for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.

Harry lived in Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida in 1992 and 1995.
