Minnie Irene Eckers3, born January 14
or 16, 1915 in —, Hennepin County, Minnesota, the daughter of
John Carl Eckers and
Minnie (Kunde) Eckers2.
In 1920 she was living with her parents on Minnetonka Avenue, St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. She was a pen pal of her cousin Herman Kunde as a child. In 1930 she was living with her parents at 7124 Minnetonka Boulevard, St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. She was attending school in that year. She lived at the same address in 1935. In 1936 Minnie I. Eckers resided in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. In that year she was working as a clerk for A. G. Wolf in Minneapolis. She was later a teacher. Minnie married, — –, 193– in —, Roy Edgar Phillips. He was born February 18, 1904 in —, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of John I— Phillips and Margaret (Kehoe) Phillips. Roy lived in Sioux City, Iowa in 1935. Children: In 1940 the Phillipses lived at 7124 Minnetonka Boulevard, St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Minnie's mother also continued to occupy the home, presumably until her death in 1946.Minnie is known to have attended the funeral of her uncle August Kunde in 1957 along with her sister Louise and sister-in-law Grace Eckers, the wife of her brother Ben. Roy Phillips's last residence was Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. He died March 5, 1976 in —, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Interment was in Section F, NW quarter of central circle, Grandview Cemetery, Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota. In 1992 Minnie was of St. Louis Park. She was said to be suffering from arthritis. More recently she lived at 5330 Beacon Hill Road, Minnetonka, Minnesota. In 2011 Minnie lived in Hopkins. Minnie I. Phillips died November 14, 2011, aged 96. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy and grandson Jon. She was survived by two children, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Augustana Chapel View Care Center, 615 Minnetonka Mills Road, Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota. A private interment followed at Grandview Park Cemetery, Hopkins. |
