Stat 314A : Prerequisites

The following background knowledge is required:

• Probability theory. In particular, basic concentration (bounded differences; sub-gaussian/sub-exponential random variables; Gaussian concentration), matrix concentration, classical limit theorems (central limit theorem, law of large numbers).

• Convex optimization (at the level of EE 364)

• Analysis (at the level of MATH 171)

• Classical statistical theory (Stat 300A,B) is welcome but not required
