This mini-symposium will cover the structure-properties-processing-performance relationships that lead to failure-causing damage. We are seeking papers that experimentally and theoretically investigate damage precursors. We will focus on identifying and characterizing precursors and indicators that relate to the development of damage and utilizing this to prediction of remaining useful life at early stages.
