Research, Teaching, and The Meaning of Life

My research interests are in philosophy of mind, the nature of sensation, cognitive science, philosophy of physics, philosophy of neuroscience, and intersections of these fields. I recently edited a book entitled Information and Mind for CSLI Press on the philosophy of Fred Dretske. I am currently working on a book giving an account of qualia, with reference to neuroscience and quantum physics.

I have taught philosophy of mind, foundations of cognitive science, philosophy of science, and philosophy of neuroscience courses at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and the University of Oxford. Syllabi for some of these are on my home page.

As a philosopher, I am often asked about The Meaning of Life. I have indeed discovered The Meaning of Life, and as a public service I am providing a link to it here.
