  • Embedded Ethics Student Survey Thursday, December 4th by Julian [From the Embedded Ethics Team] The Embedded Ethics team seeks feedback on a survey to understand students’ experience with ethics modules in CS courses and to improve the program. This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, is entirely voluntary, participating (or not) won't impact your grade in any way or ability to fully participate in the class, and the teaching team will not know who participates or doesn't. If you choose to participate you must be logged in with your SUNet credentials to access the survey; otherwise an error message will be displayed. You can access the survey right here.

As a thank you for participating, you will be able to enter your email at the end to receive a $10 gift card, up to the first 800 participants. If you have any questions, please reach out to embeddedethics@stanford.edu. Thank you!

  • assign5 Grades Released Monday, Decemder 1 Assignment 5 grade reports were released around lunch time today. As usual, go inspect your CS107 Gradebook to read through your feedback! The median functionality score was a 116 out of 119, and that's all kinds of awesome.

  • Assignment 6 Posted! Friday, November 14 The final assignment, Assignment 6 has been posted in the assignments dropdown. You'll make use of virtually all the material we've covered this quarter to implement your very own heap allocators! We hope you have fun with it.

  • assign4 Grades Released Friday, November 14 Assignment 4 grade reports were just released. Go check out your CS107 Gradebook to read through your feedback! The median functionality score was a 106 out of 107. Excellent, excellent work!

  • assign3 Grades Released Wednesday, October 29 Assignment 3 grade reports were just mailed out, and scores have been added to your CS107 Gradebook. The median functionality score was a perfect 95. Rock on!

  • assign2 Grades Released Tuesday, October 21 Assignment 2 grades will soon be posted to your CS107 Gradebook. Check out how you did by reading through your assigngrade report, paying particular attention to the style feedback. A large fraction of you reinvented the wheel by effectively re-implementing strspn, strcspn, and in some cases even strncmp. We also saw a good number of people duplicate code when we didn't feel it was at all necessary to do so. That said, the vast majority of you did very well. For those who didn't do as well and received a functionality score below 85 percent, make sure you read our resubmission policy so that you can bump your functionality score up to 85%.

  • assign1 Grades Released Tuesday, October 14 Assignment 1 grades have been posted to the Gradebook page, along with style feedback. The median functionality score on the assignment was 90/90, which is all kinds of awesome!

  • Free Tutoring at Stanford's CTL Thursday, October 9 I received the following email from a former CS107 student who now tutors for Stanford's Center for Teaching and Learning. She writes:

I'm reaching out because I'm now a CS tutor with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), where we offer free one-hour, one-on-one tutoring sessions for students in introductory CS courses. While we don't assist directly with homework, these sessions can be really helpful for students who want to review concepts or strengthen their understanding of topics covered in lecture.
Check out the CTL's Tutoring page to make an appointment.

  • assign0 Grades Released Sunday, October 5 Assignment 0 grades have been posted to the Gradebook page. The median functionality score was 26/26. Way to go!

  • Google's Campus Advocate Program Sunday, September 28 Google has launched a program to help students prepare for software engineering career, be it at Google or any other tech company. Google is hosting a series of on-campus events over the course of the quarter, two of which I was asked to advertise. Those events are:

👉 Build Your Technical Career: October 2nd at 5:00pm in CoDa, Room E160
👉 How SWEs Use AI & LLMs: October 23rd at 5:00pm in Gates, Room 304

Both events require you RSVP via this form right here.
