Stanford Symphony Orchestra performs Walker, Walton, and The Rite of Spring
On March 4 & 5, Stanford Symphony Orchestra performed Igor Stravinsky’s epic ballet score The Rite of Spring. These Winter Concerts, conducted by music director Paul Phillips, celebrated the centenary of the birth of George Walker with a performance of his composition Icarus in Orbit and featured Concerto Competition winner Addison Jadwin ’23 as viola soloist in William Walton’s Concerto for Viola and Orchestra.
