If your work involves repetitive hand movements, use ergonomic work tools. The emerging field of workplace ergonomics has contributed to the development of many new ergonomic tools. These tools help hold your body in neutral positions that minimize strain. Ergonomically designed screwdrivers, desks, chairs and keyboards are common today. If you type much of the day, it is highly advisable to at least obtain a keyboard wrist rest, to avoid hyper-extension of the wrist. Here is a study showing how an ergonomically designed keyboard reduces strain on the wrist, thus reduces the chances of CTS.
