Pacific Waterfall is a metaphor and an impossibility. I shot thousands of photographs of the Pacific Ocean and then pored through them for moments of exquisite detail when waves hit the Pacific Coast, and were then knitted together into tumultuous falls. This work was partly inspired by Chinese scroll paintings, partly by the amazing fluid dynamics in each incessant wave, and is partly an ode to the precarious state of our oceans.
