❓I have a conceptual question:
We love conceptual questions about any and all of the course material. Here are some options for you to get help:
- Reach out to your tutorial TA by email.
- Go to office hours
- Post on Ed Discussion forum.
❓I have a bug or question about my AI tool:
We all get stuck when using computers and AI tools. There are times when the best thing to do is to work through the bug yourself – learning by doing is powerful. However, there are also times when an experienced user can help get you on the right track. Course staff will help you learn how to narrow down what may be going wrong in your code and how to approach fixing it.
When you want that help, come to a tutorial – any tutorial, not just your own block – and grab a TA on floater duty. That’s what they’re there for, and no sign-up is needed. See office hours for how this works.
❓I have an administrative question:
- For most administrative questions, the quickest way to get help is to post on Ed Discussion forum, where all of our course staff (instructor, Head TA, CAs, SLs) share monitoring shifts to answer quickly at all times.
- However, for your privacy, we encourage you to share questions of a very sensitive personal nature (disability, health, family crisis) to only Piper or the instructor Cynthia.
- Most administrative matters (arrangements for OAE accommodations, extension requests, and the like) should be directed to the Head TA.
❓I want to chat about life and AI / I need to restrategize:
Anyone on the course staff would appreciate a good conversation about where this crazy world is headed. If you want help restrategizing your learning, advice on research, internships, or next steps, or you just want to talk about life at Stanford, come to office hours — or email Cynthia or Piper to arrange a private appointment.
We have no expectations for students who come to office hours. It’s completely fine to show up with nothing more than a general sense of confusion, or just the desire to sit and work and ask us questions as they come up.
