Exam protocols

The midterm exam is a 24-hour take-home exam. On-campus students must pick up the exam at one of the following times in Bytes Cafe, and return it 24-hours later.

• Friday July 18 between 5pm and 6pm

• Saturday July 19 between 10am and 11am

• Saturday July 19 between 5pm and 6pm

If you cannot take the exam at any of these times, you should email the course staff list as soon as possible. SCPD students should email the course staff list to make arrangements to take the exam.

Practice exams

Old exam questions are typically included in the homework problems, so the exam questions should look familiar. You can use the practice midterm to get an idea of what the exam will be like. Here are some remarks to help you work through the solutions. You may also want to read over the solutions to check your understanding. The data files are given below. Solutions will be presented in the problem session and lecture on Thursday July 17, and posted on the course website after they are covered.
