JPALS: Antenna Design

In addition to the weak signal power from GPS satellites, JPALS-equipped aircraft are expected operate in the presence of significant radio frequency interference (RFI). An important component of the eventual solution will be adapting controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA) technology to the performance requirements and operating environment of JPALS, particularly with regards to the effect of CRPA beamsteering algorithms on the carrier phase of the received GPS ranging signals.
