Miranda Rose turned five in August and is loving life as a kindergartener. She recently has started to read and keeps a small notebook in which she writes all the words that she knows by heart (i.e. Max, Mom, Dad, Love, Yellow, Blue, You, Brown). Miranda is very creative -- loves to draw and read stories -- but she also has her mother's love for the TV and is a devoted fan of many shows (when she's allowed to watch them) from Clifford to Stanley. Her most recent favorite is Mary Kay and Ashley (animated), which her mommy decided to let her watch thinking it would provide her with strong female role models (MK & A are secret agents with an environmentalist agenda) but so far Miranda has picked up most strongly on their fashion taste and now insists on wearing only flare pants. Miranda loves gymnastics, dancing and singing, and was instrumental in developing the criteria for our new house (a chimney and a bedroom for each kid). She was selected to be one of the students of the month at her elementary school in December. |
