COVID Information

We have consolidated all of the logistics for students who receive a red health check (e.g. test positive for COVID or are exposed to COVID).

If You Test Positive for COVID or are Exposed to COVID

First, please contact Kylie, Jenny, and Trip as soon as possible with a screenshot of your positive test (with name and date visible) or exposure notification (with name and date visible) and indicate clearly in your email the start and end dates of isolation.

We will work with you to make sure you get any extensions on assignments, and any related lecture/section absences will not count against your 4 excused lecture absences and 1 excused section absence. You can expect the following protocols:

Lecture

  • If you are isolating due to COVID but are feeling well enough, our video team has made it so that you are able to livestream lectures in real time! This will allow you to keep up-to-date with the class and more actively participate in in-lecture activities. Instructions for that are here on Ed.
  • If you are not feeling well enough to watch the livestreams, we require that you watch the lectures and fill out a different form for the attendance tickets (as the forms from lecture will close immediately after the lecture is over).

Section

  • With COVID clearance, you will also be able to join a virtual section for the week(s) that you're out. Kylie/Jenny/Trip will provide you with more details via email.

LaIR

  • If you test positive or receive an exposure notification at any point in the quarter, please email cs198lair@gmail.com with a screenshot of your positive test (with name and date visible) or exposure notification (with name and date visible) and indicate clearly in your email the start and end dates of isolation. The CS198 coordinators will grant you access to virtual LaIR over Zoom. After your end date for Virtual LaIR has passed, your access to the virtual queue will be revoked and you will have to go in person.

Assignments

  • Let us know if you're feeling too unwell to work on the upcoming assignments; we can talk more about extensions if needed.
