David Platt: Thursday, 6th October -- 2pm -- planning for Phase 2

Posted at Oct 03/2005 08:46PM:
David Platt: Our next meeting will be between 11am-1pm, on Wednesday, 5th October. We'll sketch out Connecting Communities in the same way we did Intelligent Assisting Technologies, today. This "mode" is centered around social expereinces, and the way that the car interacts with those. Think about:

David Platt: Eric has asked me to remind everyone that there is a meeting tonight (Monday, October 3rd) at 7:15.

We should all also have been writing a couple of stories and pulling out relevant triggers for the Intelligent Assisting Technologies (Caretaking) page that has been on the Wiki since Saturday. Nobody (myself included) has posted anything there yet. Due to the limitations of the Wiki software, I seriously recommend that you compose your stories in a program other than the wiki and then cut-and-paste them into it -- i.e. try to keep the editing screen of the wiki open for as short a time as possible.

Finally, due to the late time of the meeting, I'd recommend that everyone either bring a "brown bag" for snacks/ coffee or be sure to eat beforehand. I hope that this isn't too inconvenient.

David Platt: Some semblance of normality returns tomorrow (Thursday 29th) with our regularly scheduled meeting at 1pm. Hope to see you all there!

Please remember to add details of your class schedule to the Group Members page ASAP.

Posted at Sep 26/2005 08:17PM:
David Platt: Tomorrow's meeting for the Stanford Group will be between 5:00pm and 6:30pm (Tuesday, Sept. 27th). We fully expect to finish by 6pm, but have pencilled in 6:30 just in case.

We expect to have some people 'phoning in from out-of-town, so we shall most likely be using the conference room on the second floor (which has a speakerphone). This also explains the strange time -- our guests have prior commitments which make our more regular slot difficult for them.

PS As it's a difficult time at short notice, I'd be extremely grateful if those from the Stanford Group could email me, if they'll be able to make this slot. I'd also be grateful if those from the Stanford Group could email me if they _can't_ make tomorrow's meeting.

PPS I have added space for Group members to write their class schedule for this quarter on the Group Members page. If people from the Stanford group could tell us what times their classes are, planning meetings in future will be a lot easier.

TODAY'S MEETING CANCELLED

Posted at Sep 22/2005 03:09PM:
David Platt: Due to a confluence of problems, outlined in my email, we're going to have to postpone today's meeting. We'll get back to you all with a new time ASAP.

Posted at Sep 21/2005 11:25PM:
David Platt: Final suggested time for Thursday's (22nd Sept) meeting is 4pm. Hopefully, we should get back to a regular schedule, after everyone's quarter has settled down.

Posted at Sep 20/2005 10:18PM:
David Platt: Tomorrow, we are scheduled to meet at RTNA at 11am to discuss Phase 2 with the good people from Auburn Hills, MI. Several of us intend to meet on the first floor of building 160, c. 10:30am to drive over there. Check out the page for Meeting Notes, Sept 20 (Tuesday) to see what we'll be talking about.

Don't hesitate to contact me, if there are any problems. Chris W., Ruth, Ralph, Meg, Micah, and Michael should all have my cell number if there are any problems.

Posted at Sep 19/2005 09:31AM:
David Platt: The Stanford Group will meet next, this Tuesday 20th September, 1pm (hopefully Peter and Glenn will be joining us from RTNA). We're also expecting the first joint session with people from Auburn Hills, MI, to help develop Phase 2 on Wednesday 21st, at 11am.

No word on a Thursday meeting, yet. This will depend on the first two meetings.

IMPORTANT: CHANGE OF TIME

Posted at Sep 14/2005 12:41PM:
David Platt: Thursday's meeting has a new start time : 11am. The meeting will continue hrough lunch (which should be provided).

SERVER MAINTENANCE

Posted at Sep 11/2005 09:14AM:
David Platt: The Server has been back online since Friday, as those of you at the Phase One Presentation know.

Posted at Sep 08/2005 05:29PM:
David Platt: Tonight, the server will be taken offline for routine maintenance. We expect that the Wiki will be offline for the next few days, and will notify people by email when it's back up.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

IMPORTANT!

Posted at Sep 08/2005 11:40AM:
David Platt: I'm afraid that there has been a slight alteration to the time of our meeting tomorrow. The time for our meeting on Friday, Sept. 8th, is 11am to noon.

Could we meet again as a group at Stanford Oval? Perhaps at 10:30?

Posted at Sep 07/2005 12:30AM:
David Platt: Absolutely the final version of our presentation is now online on the Phase 1 Presentation page. If you have any suggested changes, of there's anything you have problems with, please contact Michael, Chris W., or myself.

Further recap: We will meet tomorrow at the top of the Oval, at 13:10h 1:10pm. Our presentation is scheduled to start at 1:30pm, and the session will last between 50 and 90 minutes.

See you all there!

Meeting Tuesday September 6th and the Phase One Presentation

Posted at Sep 02/2005 09:26AM:
David Platt: We've heard back from RTNA, and we can expect to present Phase One to them on either Wednesday 7th September at 1.30pm or Friday 9th September at 10am. This time should be fixed in the next couple of days.

To prepare for this, Michael has suggested we next meet on Tuesday 6th, at 1pm.

Let us know, if there are any problems.

Meeting Thursday September 1st

Posted at Sep 01/2005 12:14PM:
David Platt: Today's meeting is now CANCELLED due to the circumstances outlined in my recent email.

August

Posted at Aug 31/2005 10:38AM:
David Platt: Now that our final (for now) version of the Phase 1 Presentation is up online, we can take a little breather. Until tomorrow (Sept. 1st), when Michael has suggested our next Phase 2 meeting should be at 4pm. Let us know, if there are any problems with this.

Meeting Tuesday August 30th

Posted at Aug 30/2005 08:17AM:
David Platt: Today's meeting will be back at the regular time of 1pm.

Meeting Friday August 26th

Posted at Aug 26/2005 07:49AM:
David Platt: Another busy day, I'm afraid. Would everyone who is working on the Phase 1 presentation and available please attend a meeeting at 11:30am? This is probably in addition to anything we need to discuss at 3pm. Apologies for the short notice.

Meeting Tuesday August 23rd

Posted at Aug 22/2005 09:06PM:

David Platt: After all the hard work that everyone's been putting into the project, you will no doubt all be relieved to read that there is no group meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

Michael and a couple of us will be putting the finishing touches to the presentation before sending it off -- so you might receive a brief 'phone call or email if we need any clarifications.

Tuesday August 16th

David Platt: In response to RTNA's request, the Stanford team will meet Tuesday, Aug 16th, at 1:30pm to discuss our presentation on Friday.

Hopefully, this will just be a case of going through the slides that we've prepared so far, seeing how they work, and making any necessary tweaks.

Posted at Aug 12/2005 11:35AM:
chris.f: could we postpone the Tuesday 16th meeting by 30 to 60 mins as we've got a meeting at RTNA until 1pm?

Tuesday, August 9

David Platt: The next meeting of the Stanford group will be on Tuesday, August 9, at 1:00pm. Once again, this should be no longer than 90 minutes. More work on the "external futures."

Thursday, August 4
chris witmore: The next meeting of the Stanford group will be on Thursday, August 4, at 1:00pm. Once again, this should be no longer than 90 minutes. Matters of concern: potential futures.

Please remember to sign up for new tasks on the Todo page, if you've completed previous assignments.

First 20 Field Interviews Online!

David Platt: We now have the first 20 field interviews online. Any further interviews are a bonus, but we should really see this part of the project winding down. The next step is to concentrate on drawing out whatever points we think are important from the interviews.

David Platt: Late Announcement!

Posted at Jul 03/2005 11:24AM:
David Platt: We've updated the Todo page and would be grateful if all members of the Stanford team--certainly all grad student and undergrad members--would check it out. "Signing up" for a job might seem overly formal, but it should help keep us on track.
