For a recently developed, fairly mild case of CTS, a night splint is the first treatment recommended. This spint prevents hyper-extension of the wrist during sleep by keeping it in a neutral position, minimizing pressure on the median nerve. The splint can be used equally effectively during the day. It is possible, that with the use of the splint, the CTS symptoms will disappear.
