If symptoms persist despite use of a splint, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken. Aspirin is one of the drugs commonly used. An important note regarding the use of aspirin for CTS, is that it is used as an anti-inflammatory, NOT as a pain killer. To use aspirin as an effective anti-inflammatory, dosages must be carefully monitored by your doctor. The dosage strategy for anti-inflammatory effects is very different from that for killing pain. If you wish to try aspirin to relieve your CTS symptoms, please consult your doctor first. If you take aspirin when your CTS causes you pain, you are only covering up the problem, not solving it, and symtoms will recur.
