Stanford Takes Two of Three at 7′s Round Robin

Stanford was able to take two of three, at a Round Robin 7’s tournament Stanford hosted with Saint Mary’s College, San Jose State and Santa Clara.  After scrimmaging successfully with UC Santa Cruz a week early, Stanford looked improved in their opening match with highly rated Saint Mary’s College.  Stanford led 14-10 late in the game before the Gaels were able to score on the final play to defeat Stanford 15-14.  In their second and third matches, Stanford showed tremendous improvement and used a staunch defensive effort to shutout both San Jose State (26-0) and Santa Clara (20-0), finishing the tournament with a 2-1 record.  Stanford’s 7’s season will now focus on the Pac-12 7’s Championships November 8^th and 9^th at Cal, before traveling to Reno for the Pacific Western 7’s Conference Championship on November 15^th.
