Animated, multimedia GPS

I have been holding back on posting all the cool stuff – but I could not resist on this one.

Magnalox is a free online service that visualizes GPS data as annotated, interactive reports which can be displayed on maps or in 3D using Google Earth. The result is an animated, interactive track display, enriched with texts, photos, links, audio, maps and more.

A so called “magnalog” displays an animated cursor following the recorded track in
a speed proportional to the speed of the recording GPS device. When the
cursor reaches a certain location, images, texts or links specified by
the author appear synchronously to the moving track mark.

Watch an example.
