The median score was a 87.9% (145/165 pts). This exam had a mix of medium and some quite challenging problems. We felt that this median represented a good performance by the class given the difficulty of the problems.
We try to grade as consistently as possible, but we are human and we might make mistakes. If you feel like one of your problems was misgraded, please take a look at the solution handout and then file a regrade request on Gradescope. Regrade requests are open now and will stay open on Gradescope until Monday, March 27th at 2pm PT. Note that your SL cannot regrade your exam. We want you to have the credit you deserve, but filing a formal request helps us make sure that your request goes to the right person. If you submit a regrade request, we do reserve the right to regrade the entire problem and make any necessary corrections.
To get your work regraded before we input your overall grade in Axess, you must submit by the time shown above. If you'd like to ask for a regrade after this, please reach out to Nick and Elyse via email and we will revsit your exam at the start of spring quarter.
The final exam is in person on Monday, March 20th from 10-11:30am. Although the syllabus originally listed a different start time, we'll only be using the second half of our block.
If you have OAE accommodations, you will hear from Elyse via email about your exam logistics later this week. Note that your exam will still start at 10am.
We're holding a review session on Friday from 1:30-3pm in Hewlett 201 (right next to our usual class location). This review session will be recorded and posted to Canvas. See the announcement below for more review materials.
Important Exam Logistics:
We've just published two past final exams, which can be found under the "Handouts" tab. Here's a summary of the review materials you've got this week:
Hi everyone, a few updates for our last week of class:
We described our honor code policy at the beginning of the quarter, but we wanted to revisit our rules on homework collaboration. Essentially, you are welcome to exchange ideas with other students and the staff, but then you should take those insights and use them to write your own code. If you feel you made a mistake over the course of the quarter, please read this retroactive citation and retraction handout detailing some next steps. You can fill out the retractive citation form if you feel that you have violated the honor code while working on an assignment this quarter.
We have released the final homework, HW8, which will be due Wednesday, March 15th at 11:55pm. Here's the HW8 handout.
Resources
Note: This quarter's lectures are not recorded, so we're sharing last quarter's lectures. They should be similar enough, if you also take a look at this quarter's lecture slides.
