Research Overview

The Curt Frank Research Group is a soft matter laboratory. We are interested in understanding the connection between the morphology and physical properties of our soft matter systems (polymers, biomolecules, and colloids). In this exploration, we employ numerous techniques, such as atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, FTIR, ellipsometry, stress-strain, rheometry, and many more, to assist us in understanding this valuable connection. With this connection, we hope to engineer our systems at the molecular scale for applications. Our current major projects concern Sustainable Materials, Hydrogels, and Polymer Electrolyte Membranes.
