Hi everyone! We recently added a few new discussion sections, which meant that we needed to move some students to keep section sizes and section leader IG schedules balanced. If your assignment changed, you should have received an email. We understand that some of you may have already made plans around your original section assignment, and we are sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

No one was assigned to a time they had previously listed as unavailable. Please check your current assignment on the CS198 section website before attending your next section.

If you would like to change your assigned section, section swaps are still open on the CS198 section website. Because additional manual changes would make section sizes and IG schedules uneven again, we are unfortunately unable to move students manually or restore previous assignments.

If your assigned section time does not work for you in a particular week, you may attend another section and still receive section credit. Just let the section leader know that you are visiting when you arrive. You do not need to notify us beforehand. However, you will still complete IGs with your assigned section leader.

If you are not currently in a section, please use the CS198 section website to join one. You cannot receive section attendance credit unless you are officially assigned to a section.

Hi everyone! Here are a few updates for this week:

• Discussion sections: Sections have been assigned and will begin this week. Check your assignment on the section website. If another section has an open spot, you can swap into it now. Swaps close Friday, October 9 at 11:59 pm PT.
• LaIR: LaIR began Sunday, September 27, at 7 pm in CoDa B60. Now that Assignment 1 is underway, it's a great place to get help when you're stuck. LaIR is open Sunday through Thursday, 7 to 11 pm. Read more about LaIR here.
• Iddah's office hours updated: Iddah's office hours are now Tuesday and Thursday, 9 to 11 am in CoDa B45.

We have released HW1! You'll get to write your very first programs on the Experimental Server with Bit. Hooray! You can also find HW1 under the "Assignments" tab above.

HW1 is due Wednesday, September 30th at 11:55pm PT.

If you have an OAE accommodation letter, please fill out our OAE form by the end of Week 3.
